Child girl day-11/10

October 11 is the International Day of the Girl Child.

International Day of the Girl Child is an opportunity to celebrate the power of young girls, highlight the challenges they face, and advocate for their empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

International and national efforts to  promote gender equality are chronically underfunded, particularly when compared to other priorities outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

An educated young girl is a step toward a brighter and more democratic future. This International Day of the Girl Child, let’s keep investing in girls and working toward that future.

The focus of this year’s internationally recognized day is "EmPOWER girls: Before, during and after crises,"

Girls are breaking boundaries and barriers posed by stereotypes and exclusion, including those directed at children with disabilities and those living in marginalized communities. As entrepreneurs, innovators and initiators of global movements, girls are creating a world that is relevant for them and future generations.

International Day of the Girl Child is also called the Day of the Girls or International Day of the Girl. It is an observance day declared by the United Nation to amplify the voices of young girls around the world and increase awareness of issues faced by them.

You can start a short social media campaign to raise funds for underprivileged girls or you could just educate your friends and followers by sharing some facts and statistics about young girls.

Investing in girls’ secondary education leads to fall in child marriage rates, maternal mortality rates, child mortality rates, and child stunting. Besides, the lifetime earnings of girls rise dramatically, pushing up the national growth rates, according to UNICEF.

Just getting our act together now will set us up better to celebrate our next National Girl Child Day on 24 January 2022
